Danny & his pals (mostly Jim Babjak of The Smithereens, The Grip Weeds Kurt Reil and Kevin Kammeraad of The Tomato Collection) rock on Danny's sophomore disc, Listen UP! When I say rock I'm talkin' classic rock ala Kinks, Stones & Beatles. The rollicking opener, "When I Grow Up" will get you groovin & set for fun for the whole family. Other rockers include "In The Future" & "Too Much Pizza Blues" in which our pals gleefully gorge upon slices & slices to the point of absurd gastric agony. Now that's the way to write a kickin' kids blues tune. Danny flexes his lyrical muscle in (my fave) "The Dozsins" a cumulative sonic build-up song full of playful homonyms. "Sweet Pea Emily" is a welcomed syncopated transplant from Kevin Kammeraad's Tomato Collection which is getting some decent airplay on XM Kids these days.
